Garden Entrance Gate
GARDEN, METALWORK
A decorative iron gate designed for the pedestrian entrance into an Arts and Crafts garden. Flanked either side by large stone carved gate piers, the gate is designed with an arch head and simple roundel details to the top which interlace with the design of dog roses and ‘Soane’ S’ details. The iron posts for the gate are doric columns with simple sphere details on top. The base of these posts are decorated with beech leaves and dog roses that mimic details found around the rest of the home and garden.
A part of the enjoyment in designing bespoke items for clients are the design iterations and sketches that come before the finished product. Here is one of the earlier designs for the gate.
