Metal Vent in Stone Skirting
METALWORK
Both passive and mechanical ventilation was required for a private spa building, resulting in several openings required both at low and high level throughout the construction. We chose to use the opportunity to add decoration and interest with a striking contrast of black powder-coated metal against the pale sandstone. An open design was required to fulfil airflow requirements so a bronze mesh is inserted behind each of the cut metal panels. This also performs an insect barrier. The design of the cut-out metal is of beech leaves, bluebells and dog roses to follow the motif developed for the rest of the Arts and Crafts estate.
